Ishka ESG: Committing to a Cleaner Aviation Future

New for 2022, Ishka hosted its first ESG-dedicated conference - on Thursday 31 March. This must-attend event examined the development of a new regulatory landscape governing how aviation must evolve to meet its responsibilities to climate change and how the industry is collaborating to meet these demands. Financial planning, frameworks for banks, SAF production and usage will all feature.

Set against the backdrop of the global pandemic, COP26 and growing scrutiny from politicians and the public, never has it been more important for the aviation industry to evaluate its roles and responsibilities to the climate, to the people that work in the industry and how business is conducted. Aviation’s status as a carbon based industry cannot be ignored, but there are real opportunities to address this through the wider use of SAFs whilst developing new hydrogen and electrical power solutions. Similarly, there is growing evidence that ‘green’ finance can lead to a wider investor base, opening opportunities to institutions conscious of their role in carbon management, and aligned to good governance, can offer excellent returns.

Don’t miss: Join us at Ishka Investing in Aviation: Europe the day before (30 March) at the same venue, for a back-to-back couple of days of exclusive content and networking.

The main takeaway is to foster dialogue between the aviation sector and regulators to ensure that aviation is well-placed to meet its sustainability responsibilities and regulators fully understand the challenges and realities facing owners, operators and manufacturers in aviation.

"Innovation is an overused buzzword, yet Ishka has found a way to bring refreshing and honest innovation to aviation conferences."
– Richard Averitt, Contrail Aviation Support
